The Kentucky Highlands Energy Business Boot Camp is an intensive performance-based entrepreneurial training and mentorin program conducted in pertnership with Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation (KHIC), London, Kentucky and Technology 2020's Center for Entrepreneurial Growth (CEG), Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Its purpose is to help energy-related researchers, inventors and entrepreneurs prepare a path to business sustainability and profitability. Located at KHIC's offices, the 18-month project includes two consecutive nine-month camps. Eight businesses (4 for each camp) will each recieve a $7,500 stipend to offset the management team's cost to travel and participate as they develop a market strategy with implementation plan, a sustainable business model and a capitalization plan. Each camp includes four, four-hour classroom sessions, monthly coaching meetings, two evening networking events and one regional energy-focused symposium.
